The USPTO’s Trademark Manual of Examining Procedure (TMEP) is a publication and reference for the practices and procedures for the process of registering marks at the USPTO, with guidelines for examining attorneys to follow in the examination of trademark applications. TMEP is also a resource to use for detailed answers to questions regarding a federal trademark application or the maintenance of a registration – for attorneys or other applicants.
