The total cost to a Client is a combination of Attorney's fees, Government fees, and/or others fees.  Attorney's fees are based on Attorney time worked.  Government fees are fees to a court or other government office.  Other fees can cover a range of issues such as court reporter fees.  Fees are pre-paid by the Client and held by the Attorney and then the Attorney pays the fees on behalf of the Client.  An estimate will be provided for fees, where fees are dependent on a variety of factors for legal services asked for.

Work Experience

Law Office of John B. Hudak, PLLC – Milford, CT – Founding Member – Providing litigation, transactions/contracts, and intellectual property protection legal services.

Previous work experience included: document review and legal research/writing for class action lawsuits; legal research/writing for a university professor related to financial regulation; and work for a nonprofit helping tenants navigate housing court.

1. Initial Phone Call

• John Hudak will have a phone conversation with you to determine if he can provide the legal services to you which you are asking for; explain the legal process; and provide details about pricing.

2. Description of Legal Services and Attorney Client Relationship is Sent to the Potential Client

• The Potential Client will receive an Description of Legal Services and Attorney Client Relationship document by email detailing: the initial legal services to be provided; and estimates to Attorney’s fees and government fees for future expected work.

3. Pre-Payment for the Initial Increment of Work

• The Client will send pre-payment to the law office for the initial increment of work either: online with a credit card or electronic check; or a paper check physically written out and mailed or a paper check through bill pay from a bank account and the bank will mail a check.  After pre-payment is received, the Potential Client will receive an Attorney Engagement Letter which describes that the Potential Client is formally a Client and there is an Attorney Client Relationship, where the Attorney is representing the Client for their legal issue.

4. Initial Increment of Work is Performed

• The initial increment of work is performed to do an initial analysis of the facts of your legal issue. 

5. Interim Statement of Accounting Sent to the Client

• If further work will be performed, then John Hudak will send a document called an Interim Statement of Accounting which details: (a) work which has already been performed; (b) what further work the Attorney and you the Client have decided needs to be performed; and (c) additional money required for that further legal work.  

6. Additional Payment Sent to the Law Office

• The Client will send further payment to the law office as pre-payment for the further work decided on after the initial increment of work is performed.

7.  Completion of Further Work; On-going Work; Interim Statements of Accounting; and Additional Pre-Payments

• As more work will be performed, Interim Statements of Accounting will be used to detail the money for the work and a description of the work.
